Description
El Gris is an industrial district in Madrenice named for the thick grey smoke that spews from the areas many factories. El Gris is comprised mostly of factories that produce finished goods both for the local population, and for foreign trade. The district also contains warehouses and a few run-down tenement buildings used for company housing.
El Gris is not a desirable place to work both due to the region having a toxic atmosphere, and due to the fact that the factory managers do not care about employee safety. Consequently, most of the factory work in the area is given to the fae who have little say on the matter. The work conditions in El Gris violate Ityian workplace safety laws, but the district is constantly bringing money into the city and the only victims are the fae. As a result, The Trade Council and law enforcement have mostly agreed to turn a blind eye to the safety violations in El Gris as long as the region is profitable.
